William Luecke was one of the well known and successful business men of Sheboygan where he was engaged in the general contracting and building business. He was born in Hanover, Germany, in 1826, and emigrated to America in 1854, settling in Sheboygan county where he at once associated himself in partnership with Mr. Roeder and with him engaged in the contracting and building business for a period of about twenty-eight years, under the firm name of Luecke & Roeder. This well known firm has built many of the large buildings including business and residence structures now in service in the city of Sheboygan.
